Green Knights Split Pair of Five-Set Marathons

OSHKOSH -- St. Norbert College split a pair of five-set matches to open play at the UW-Oshkosh Pizza Hut Classic at Kolf Sports Center.

The Green Knights (3-3) opened with a tough 18-25, 25-17, 25-17, 22-25, 16-14 loss to Concordia University Wisconsin before charging back to beat College of St. Scholastica 20-25, 19-25, 25-14, 25-22, 15-9.

St. Norbert came up just shy in the loss to Concordia, losing the five-set heartbreaker hitting .118. The Green Knights had 48 kills against 29 errors in 161 attempts. Lexie Van Hiel had a team-high 13 kills, while Ali Rueter added 11 kills. Emily Rohloff had 24 assists and Anna Berghofer added 17 assists.

Aubree Antosch had a total of 28 digs with Rueter added 13 and Rohloff 10. Van Hiel had five blocks, with Anika Johnson and Hannah Johnshoy adding three apiece.

The Green Knights responded from the tough loss by erasing a two-set deficit to clip the Saints. St. Norbert, which hit .111 (50-30-180) in the match, hit .390 (17-1-41) in the third set to turn the momentum around.

Johnson had 12 kills, while Van Hiel and Johnshoy had 10 kills apiece. Berghoefer had 25 assists while Rohloff added 19.

Antosch finished with 15 digs, while Rohloff had 13 digs and Emily Kilmer 11. Johnson also posted nine blocks.
