St. Norbert Tops No. 2-Ranked Loras

DULUTH, Minn. - St. Norbert College claimed a win over its highest nationally ranked opponent in program history when it topped Loras College 2-1 in the Green Knights' second game of College of St. Scholastica's Advantage Emblem Cup.

The Green Knights (3-1) felled the Duhawks, who entered the game ranked No. 2 in the NCAA Division III coaches' poll. Loras is the defending NCAA Division III national runner-up.

Following a scoreless first half, St. Norbert took the lead in the 55th minute when Tyler Kassube's free kick from about 50 yards out found its way into the net. The Green Knights added to their advantage when Ben Prange scored off an assist from Sam Lamers by completing a header for a 2-0 lead in the 71st minute.

Loras (3-1) answered with a goal from Jonah Jacke in the 80th minute, but the Duhawks would draw no closer.

Loras held a 16-12 edge in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.

Josh Koleske made four saves in goal for St. Norbert, while Jacob Peterson made three stops for Loras.
