Green Knights Drop Two Tough Decisions at UW-Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE - St. Norbert College battled but fell just short of cracking the win column on the second day of the UW-Eau Claire Tournament, falling to No. 12-ranked Bethel University 3-1 and to host UW-Eau Claire 3-2.

St. Norbert (5-9) fell to Bethel 21-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-18 and then lost to Eau Claire 28-26, 17-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-13. The Green Knights had an 11-9 lead in the fifth set against the Blugolds but couldn't hold off a late Eau Claire rally.

Hannah Johnshoy and Anika Johnson each had 11 kills for the Green Knights, while Halie Ferry added nine. Emily Rohloff finished with 25 assists while Anna Berghoefer added 12 assists. St. Norbert hit .174, with 48 kills against 22 errors in 149 attempts.

Rohloff posted 14 digs to lead the back row, while Aubree Antosch finished with 12 digs and Ferry 10. Lexie Van Hiel had six blocks, while Ferry had five.

Against Eau Claire, Ali Rueter posted a match-high 18 kills to lead the St. Norbert offense. Ferry added 13 kills and Johnshoy 12. Berghoefer finished with 24 assists and Rohloff 23. The Green Knights hit .145 with 54 kills against 30 errors in 165 attempts.

Ferry and Antosch had 20 digs apiece. Van Hiel had six blocks and Johnson three.
