Bourneuf's 69 Sets St. Norbert Record at MSOE Invitational

LAKE GENEVA - St. Norbert College freshman Luke Bourneuf shot a 69 at the second round of the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational to set a school single-round record at Grand Geneva Resort.

Bourneuf carded a 69 in the second round to become the first St. Norbert men's golfer to shoot lower than 70 according to available records dating back to 1969. Bourneuf finished in a tie for third place with a 1-under par score of 73-69--142.

Bourneuf led St. Norbert to a fifth-place finish out of 13 teams with scores of 312-307--619 at Grand Geneva's The Highlands and The Brute courses, respectively. Carthage College won the tournament with a 288-274--562. Carthage's Matt Meneghetti was the medalist with a 71-65--136.

Joe Scherer tied for 21st place with a 79-75--154. Eric Bagg and Alex Grover both tied for 39th place. Bagg shot an 82-80--162, while Grover finished with a 78-84--162.

Ben Engelstad finished tied for 54th place with an 86-83--169.
