Early Deficit Too Much For Green Knights

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College fell behind by a pair of goals in the first half and couldn't recover, dropping a 4-2 decision to Lake Forest College in a key Midwest Conference match at Farwell Field.

The Green Knights (9-3, 4-1 MWC) fell a game behind the first-place Foresters (7-5, 5-0) with the loss.

Lake Forest's Gaston Aubert and Ellis Rutili scored in the 16th and 24th minute, respectively, to give the host a 2-0 lead which the Foresters carried into halftime.

The Foresters also got the game's third goal on a John Cappuccitti score in the 55th minute. St. Norbert got on the scoreboard at 58:36 on a goal by Kevin Marx, with Ben Prange assisting, to cut the deficit to 3-1. Lake Forest would salt the game away with another goal by Aubert at 60:44.

Jon Gregory scored the game's final goal with 33 seconds remaining for his second marker of the year.

Lake Forest outshot St. Norbert 17-8 but the Green Knights held a 6-5 edge in corner kicks. Josh Koleske made two saves for St. Norbert, while Tero Elias made four saves for Lake Forest.
