MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College benefited from a pair of goals by Sam Lamers on route to a 3-1 win over Cornell College in a Midwest Conference match at Cornell Soccer Field.

St. Norbert (13-3, 6-1 MWC) took control early with a goal by Hunter Sullivan at the 3:30 mark off an assist from Tyler Kassube. It was Sullivan's first goal of the season.

Lamers then pushed the Green Knights ahead 2-0 with an unassisted marker at 15:33. Lamers then scored his third goal of the season by converting a penalty kick at the 34:51 mark for a 3-0 edge.

That lead would hold up until Cornell's Facundo Benavidez scored on a penalty kick at 80:45 for the game's final margin.

St. Norbert outshot Cornell 13-7 and had a 4-1 edge in corner kicks. Josh Koleske and Sam Lisheron split time in net for the Green Knights, each recording two saves. Jerome Richards made seven saves for the Rams.
