Green Knights Earn Key MWC Win Over Beloit

DE PERE - St. Norbert College stayed in contention for a Midwest Conference Tournament berth with a 4-0 win over Beloit College at De Pere High School.

The Green Knights (9-5-1, 5-2-1 MWC) sit in a second-place tie with Grinnell College with 16 points with one game remaining. Ripon College and Lake Forest College are both tied for fourth place with 13 points, but both sides have a game in hand on the Green Knights.

St. Norbert took care of Beloit early, getting two goals almost two minutes apart in the early going. Morgan Edge scored her second goal of the season off a feed from Aimee Conley at the 16:45 mark. Ellie Lochner then scored her seventh marker of the year off a pass from Danielle Harris at 18:31. Jessica Heilmann's first career goal gave St. Norbert a 3-0 lead at 42:46. It was unassisted.

The Green Knights scored the second half's only goal when Dana Schwab scored unassisted at 58:06 for her fifth goal of the season.

St. Norbert outshot Beloit 18-7 and had a 7-3 edge on corner kicks. Maddie Plinska and Ally Magiera combined for five saves for St. Norbert, while Olivia Nasatir had five stops for the Buccaneers.
