St. Norbert Wins Sixth MWC Championship; First Since 2010

BELOIT - St. Norbert College rolled to its sixth Midwest Conference championship with an impressive showing at the MWC Championship at Beloit Club.

The Green Knights posted 43 points to win their first conference title since 2010. St. Norbert topped defending MWC champion Cornell College, which had 55 points. Grinnell College was in a distant third place with 75 points. St. Norbert coach Don Augustine was named MWC Coach of the Year.

St. Norbert placed nine harriers on the all-conference team, matching the conference record set by Grinnell in 2006. Those finishing in the top 20 places are accorded all-conference honors.

Erin Artz led St. Norbert with a second-place finish. Artz's time of 22:06 was just behind defending national champion Abrah Masterson of Cornell, who had a time of 21:59 in the 6-kilometer race.

Taylor Domro, who was named MWC Newcomer of the Year, finished fourth with a time of 22:52, while Brittany Kozlowski was 10th with a time of 23:25. Tori Nelsen was 13th in 23:28 and Haley Joosten was 14th in 23:38.

Abby Janto turned in a 15th-place finish in 23:41, while Graceanne Tarsa was 16th in 23:42. Gretchen Price finished in 18th place with a time of 23:49 and Alyssa Wegner was 19th in 23:55.
