Big First Period Powers St. Norbert Sweep

HANCOCK, Mich. - St. Norbert College scored all of its goals in the first period as the Green Knights rolled to a 3-0 win over Finlandia University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Houghton County Arena.
The Green Knights (12-2-1, 9-1-1 NCHA) outshot the Lions 17-4 in the decisive first period and cruised to victory from there.
Tanner Froese scored his third goal of the series and team-high 10th marker of the season when he put St. Norbert on the board at the 4:21 mark. Lane Valimont then scored a power-play goal at 10:20 for his second goal of the series.
Noah Nelson then registered the Green Knights' third goal with a goal at 14:38.
Froese assisted on Valimont's goal for St. Norbert's only multi-point performance of the game.
St. Norbert outshot Finlandia 35-15. The Green Knights were 1-for-6 on the power play while the Lions were 0-for-4.
Tony Kujava posted his 11th career shutout with 15 saves for St. Norbert. Alec Rounds made 32 saves for Finlandia.
