GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College methodically worked its way to its 72nd consecutive win over a Midwest Conference opponent when it topped Monmouth College 65-40 at UW-Green Bay's Kress Events Center.

The Green Knights (11-2, 8-0 MWC), ranked No. 9 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 and Division III's top defensive team at 54.1 points allowed per game, held the Fighting Scots (3-10, 3-5) to 17 second-half points to pull away.

St. Norbert led from start to finish, seeing its first-half lead melt to two points on three occasions but always kept the advantage. Monmouth was within 19-17 with 6:48 left in the first half when Ben Bobinski's layup and Joe Ciriacks' 3-pointer put the Green Knights ahead 24-17. St. Norbert
eventually settled on a 32-23 halftime lead.

Connor Curtis gave St. Norbert a double-digit lead for good on a basket with 14:28 remaining for a 42-32 edge. Bobinski's three free throws with 13:17 left put the Green Knights up 46-32 and St. Norbert would never lead by less than 12 points the rest of the way.

Monmouth would score just six points in the last 11:46 of the contest.
