Green Knights Battle Past UW-Stevens Point

DE PERE - St. Norbert College snapped a four-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over UW-Stevens Point in a non-conference game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights (4-10-1) scored a goal in every period to battle past the Pointers (8-5-2).

St. Norbert got on the board early with a first-period power-play goal. Selena Stromer scored her team-high fifth goal of the season with a marker just 10 seconds into a power play for the game's first score. Stevens Point answered at 14:13 on a goal by Alex Grubbs to tie the game 1-1 after one period.

The Green Knights got the second period's only goal with a score by Lisa Lenell at 2:42 of the frame.

St. Norbert boosted its lead to 3-1 on a goal by Natasha Smith at 8:17 of the third period. The Pointers Cara Lemirande scored with 4:29 remaining in the game but the visitors would draw no closer.

Stevens Point outshot St. Norbert 29-23. Brianna Kelly made 27 saves for the Green Knights, while Lisa Fowle made 20 stops for the Pointers.

St. Norbert was 1-for-1 on the power play, while Stevens Point was 0-for-3.
