St. Norbert Gets Back on Track, Shuts Out Lawrence

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College snapped its first losing streak in four years with a 4-0 win over Lawrence University in the St. Norbert Thanksgiving Tournament finale at the Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights, ranked third in USCHO.com's Poll, improved to 9-2 overall. Lawrence fell to 3-7.

St. Norbert goaltender B.J. O'Brien recorded his first collegiate shutout, posting 16 saves. O'Brien helped the Green Knights hold the Vikings scoreless on the power play, with the visitors going 0-for-5 with the man advantage.

Brandon Longley scored his eighth goal of the season when he knocked home a loose puck near a scrum around the net at the 18:08 mark of the first period.

St. Norbert made it 2-0 when A.J. Gale received a pass off a faceoff and blasted it home from the right face-off circle at the 12:20 mark of the second period. Gale's score was his team-high ninth of the year.

Nick Tabisz carried the puck into the Lawrence end and put home a backhand past the Vikings' Evan Johnson at the 9:48 mark of the third period. Alain Joanette rounded out the scoring with his fifth goal of the season at 16:13.

The Green Knights outshot the Vikings 36-16. Eleven different St. Norbert skaters scored a point but no one had a multi-point game. The Green Knights were 0-for-3 on the power play.

Johnson made 32 saves for the Vikings.
