Sprinters Pace Green Knights at Illinois Wesleyan

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - St. Norbert College got several strong performances form its sprinters as the Green Knights placed sixth in the team standings at the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational at Shirk Center.

The Green Knights posted 38 points to finished sixth out of nine teams. Washington University won the meet with 106 points.

Ryan Grandlic and Jon Gregory took the top two places, respectively, in the 400-meter dash. Grandlic finished with a time of 50.07 seconds, while Gregory was right behind in 50.62 seconds. Gregory was third in the 200-meter dash in 23.05 seconds and Grandlic placed fifth in 23.10 seconds.

Tyler Lewis, Grandlic, Gregory and Andrew Lemay were second in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:26.38.

Kevin Schlichter was fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 41 feet 9 3/4 inches.

Ben Behling was sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:43.80. Sam Holt was eighth in the 5K in 16:53.89.

Tristin Marx placed seventh in the pole vault with a height of 13-11 1/4, while Tyler Lemens was seventh in the long jump with a leap of 20-3 3/4.

Colin O'Brien was seventh in the 60-meter dash in 7.23 seconds. Cody Roll was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.22 seconds.
