HANCOCK, Mich. - St. Norbert College outshot Finlandia University 38-13 but it was the host Lions who led at the pay window by posting a 2-1 overtime win in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Houghton County Arena.
Kait Ryynanen's unassisted power-play goal nine seconds into overtime was the decisive score.
St. Norbert took the early lead when Jillian Kosteck scored at 8:37 of the first period, but Finlandia's Sierra Meiners countered with a goal at 14:24 of the frame for a 1-1 deadlock.
Neither team could pull ahead in regulation time. St. Norbert was 0-for-5 on the power play while Finlandia finished 1-for-6.
