Late Goal Leads to Setback Against Marian

DE PERE - St. Norbert College yielded a late goal to Marian University and it proved to be the difference in a 2-1 loss to the Sabres in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Sabres' Hannah Koniar scored with 4:14 remaining to snap a 1-1 tie.

Following a scoreless two periods, Marian took a 1-0 lead when Hailey Miller scored on a breakaway at the 5:09 mark. St. Norbert answered with a goal from Jillian Kosteck at 14:03 to even the score 1-1.

St. Norbert had 1:07 of extra-attacker time and then had a 6-on-4 advantage for the final 41 seconds following a Marian penalty but couldn't tie the game.

St. Norbert outshot Marian 24-16. Marian goaltender Lindsey Strainis made 23 saves, while Brianna Kelly made 14 stops for St. Norbert.

Both teams were 0-for-4 on the power play.
