Green Knights Open Season With Win Over MSOE

MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College rallied from deficits in three singles matches to post a 6-3 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering in the dual-meet season opener at Elite Sports Club River Glen.

The Green Knights got singles wins from John Zanotti, Brady Hicks and Jordan Crump after all three trailed by one set in their matches.

Zanotti dropped his first set at No. 2 to Tom Smith 7-5 before rallying to claim a victory with set scores of 6-2, 7-6 (7-3). Hicks lost 6-4 in the first set at No. 3 to Ryan Runke before winning 7-6 (8-6), 6-1. Crump dropped his first set at No. 6 to Curt Norton 6-3 before winning 6-3, 6-1.

Alex Vandenberg claimed St. Norbert's other singles win with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Tyler Haanen at No. 4.

St. Norbert also won a pair of doubles matches. Vandenberg and Zach Simonet defeated Smith and Mason Sauder 8-1 at No. 2. Kahlo Vue and Joe Oleniczak topped Haanen and Brad Phoenix 8-2 at No. 3.
