Green Knights Runner-Up at MWC Indoor Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College finished in second place for the fifth consecutive year at the Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship at Illinois College's King Field House.

The Green Knights registered 122 points to finish behind champion Monmouth College's 156 points. St. Norbert clipped Cornell College, which was third with 112 points.

Jon Gregory was named Midwest Conference Track Performer of the Year. Gregory won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.66 seconds and was third in the 400-meter dash in 50.25 seconds. Gregory was also part of the Green Knights' championship 4x200-meter relay and 1,600-meter sprint medley relay on Friday.

Gregory was also part of the championship 4x400-meter relay team along with Tyler Lewis, Andrew Brath and Ryan Grandlic. The foursome ran a time of 3:24.73.

Grandlic was second in both the the 200- and 400-meter dashes. Grandlic ran a time of 22.78 seconds in the 200 and posted a time of 49.67 seconds in the 400.

The distance medley relay of Matt Holloway, Michael DeGroot, Evan Watzka and Ben Behling was second with a time of 10:54.81.

Noah Kleiman placed second in the high jump with a clearance of 6 feet 1/2 inch.

Lewis was sixth in the 400-meter dash in 51.10 seconds. Colin O'Brien was seventh in the 60-meter dash in 7.23 seconds.

Andrew Lemay was sixth in the 800-meter run at 2:00.43 and Brath was seventh at 2:01.58.

Travis Heschke was sixth in the triple jump at 41-10. Bright Boachie and Lake La Chappelle tied for seventh in the high jump with a height of 5-6 1/2.
