Kozlowski Finishes Second In 800-Meter Run at Day 2 of NCAA Meet

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College's senior Brittany Kozlowski finished as the runner-up in the 800-meter run to lead the Green Knights on the second day of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship at North Central College's Res-Rec Hall.

Kozlowski became the first St. Norbert thinclad to earn three All-America honors in the same event at the NCAA Indoor meet after turning in a time of 2:12.23, finishing just behind Ohio Northern University's Emily Richards' time of 2:10.38.

Kozlowski was fourth in the 800 at the 2016 NCAA meet after a seventh-place showing in the event in 2015.

Samantha Morateck finished in a tie for 10th place in the high jump with a clearance of 5 feet 6 1/2 inches. Morateck cleared the height on her third try, with nine athletes reaching 5-6 1/2, with three doing it on their first attempt and four on their second try. Ohio Wesleyan University's Cirrus Robinson was the national champion with a height of 5-7 3/4.

Erin Artz finished in 11th place in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:02.26. Artz finished ninth in the 5,000-meter run on Friday. Ithaca College's Taryn Cordani won the national title in the event with a time of 9:42.43.

St. Norbert finished with 11 points in the team scoring to finish alone in 20th place out of 70 teams scoring. Washington (Mo.) University was the national champion with 44 points.
