Green Knights Win Twice

ORLANDO, Fla. - St. Norbert College earned a pair of dual match victories with a 5-4 win over SUNY-Geneseo and an 8-1 triumph over Illinois Wesleyan University.

The Green Knights topped Geneseo on the strength of four singles wins. Katherine Ake beat Anika Pornpitaksuk 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2, while Anna Gosz defeated Vanessa Lam-Tran 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3. Meg Witt (No. 5) and Stephanie Doerfert (No. 6) earned default wins, as did Ake and Doefert at No. 3 doubles.

St. Norbert then earned two doubles points against Illinois Wesleyan to take control. Gosz and Ashley Randazzo defeated Megan Hippe and Sam Robinson 8-2 at No. 2, while Ake and Doerfert topped Kayeligh Ruffolo and Kelsey Browning 8-0 at No. 3.

Doefert blanked Browning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles, while Witt nearly did the same in a 6-1, 6-0 win over Autumn See at No. 5. Randazzo beat Ruffolo 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4.

Elizabeth Manlick beat Dana Dray 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while Ake beat Hippe 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2. Gosz needed three sets to dispatch Robinson 6-1, 2-6, 10-5 at No. 3.
