St. Norbert Defeats Dubuque, Lakeland

KOHLER - St. Norbert College extended its winning streak to three with a pair of dual match wins over the University of Dubuque and Lakeland University at SportsCore.

The Green Knights (5-3) opened with a 6-3 win over Dubuque and followed with a 9-0 win over Lakeland.

St. Norbert picked up two doubles points against the Spartans. Ben Vande Zande and Brady Hicks topped Matthew Sablay and Ranfer Hernandez 9-8 (7-5) at No. 1, while John Zanotti and Joe Oleniczak defeated Jordan Hamling and Zeb Hill 8-2 at No. 3.

Hicks claimed a 6-1, 6-3 win over Hernandez at No. 3 singles, while Alex Vandenberg beat Jared Jhun 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4. Zach Simonet topped Hamling 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5, while Jordan Crump defeated Hill 6-3, 6-0.

Against Lakeland, St. Norbert lost just three games in the nine matches.

Vandenberg and Simonet beat Nick Lange and Andrew L'Empereur 8-0 at No. 1 doubles. Zanotti and Oleniczak scored an 8-1 win over Jared Nummerdor and Ken Yamamoto 8-1 at No. 2, while Matt La Violette and Sam Gullick blanked Dylan Skewis and Bill Behrmann 8-0 at No. 3.

Zanotti finished off Lange with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles. La Violette, Oleniczak, Luke Andrekus, Gullick and Matthew Voissem all registered 6-0, 6-0 wins at Nos. 2-6, respectively.
