Green Knights Win Own Invitational

WRIGHTSTOWN - St. Norbert College survived tough weather conditions to win its own invitational at Royal St. Patrick's Golf Links.

The Green Knights battled windy and rainy conditions over two days to post a 36-hole score of 318-322--640. Lake Forest College was second with a 343-340--683. St. Norbert "B" finished 345-349--694.

St. Norbert's Luke Bourneuf won medalist honors, shooting an even-par 72 on the first day before finishing with an 80 to total a 152. He finished six strokes ahead of the Green Knights' Eric Bagg, who carded a 79-79--158 to lead the "B" squad.

Joe Scherer was third, finishing with a 79-80--159. Ben Bobinski followed in sixth place with an 84-80--164.

Luke Karakas placed seventh with an 83-82--165, while Marcus Ruch was eighth with an 85-85--169. Alex Grover rounded out St. Norbert finishers in the top ten with a ninth-place showing of 85-89--174.
