Green Knights to Face Gustavus Adolphus Friday in NCAA Opener

DE PERE - St. Norbert College will face Gustavus Adolphus College in a first-round match in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament at Noon Friday at the University of Chicago's Stagg Tennis Courts.

The Green Knights (23-11) are making their third overall NCAA Division III Tournament appearance after winning the Midwest Conference tournament championship. St. Norbert, which also appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2010 and 2015, advanced with a 5-3 win over Grinnell College on April 27 in the MWC Tournament championship. The Green Knights are 0-2 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.

Gustavus Adolphus (19-7) won the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament after beating Carleton College 5-2 in the championship match. Gustavus Adolphus is making its 24th NCAA Tournament appearance and is 35-25 all-time.

The St. Norbert-Gustavus Adolphus winner advances to face the Kenyon College-Franciscan University winner on Saturday in the second round. The other three teams in the regional are host Chicago, Augustana College and Coe College.
