Green Knights Season Ends in NCAA Loss to St. Scholastica

WHITEWATER -- St. Norbert College saw its record-setting season come to an end with a 2-0 loss to College of St. Scholastica in a NCAA Division III Midwest Regional game at UW-Whitewater's Prucha Field at Miller Stadium.

St. Norbert saw its season end with a 30-13 overall record, the most wins in program history.

The Green Knights couldn't solve St. Scholastica's Martin Alcoverde, who allowed five singles with three walks and 13 strikeouts in a complete-game win.

St. Scholastica (33-9) got a single run in the first inning. The Green Knights countered by loading the bases in the bottom of the first but ended up leaving the runners stranded.

The Saints scored another run in the top of the fourth inning on a two-out bloop single.

St. Norbert again loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth inning but couldn't push a run across. The Green Knights then got one-out singles from Tyler Banovich and Robbie Dombrowski in the bottom of the eighth inning and didn't score.

St. Norbert left 10 runners on base.

Sean Grant was 2-for-4 for St. Norbert.

Jason Malkowski took the loss for the Green Knights, allowing a pair of runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
