Green Knights Top Edgewood In Season Opener

DE PERE - St. Norbert College opened its season with a 1-0 win over Edgewood College in a non-conference game at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights scored all it would need just 3 minutes 2 seconds into the game when Monica Stephans' hard shot from the top of the penalty area puffed the net for the game's only goal.

Neither side would generate much offensive pressure in the game, with the Green Knights outshooting the Eagles by a 6-4 margin. Edgewood had a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.

Ally Magiera made one save to post the shutout for St. Norbert. Grace Wildeboer made four stops for Edgewood.
