St. Norbert Wins Tom Barry Invite For Seventh Time in Eight Years

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College won the team championship of the 43rd Annual Tom Barry Invitational, capturing the crown at its home meet for the seventh time in eight years with a balanced showing at Colburn Park.

The Green Knights registered 31 points, bunching their top-five scorers within the first nine places. St. Norbert easily outdistanced runner-up Carroll University's 59 points. The College of St. Scholastica placed third with 64 points. St. Scholastica's Casey Hovland repeated as individual champion, covering the 5-kilometer course in 17 minutes 59.6 seconds. A total of 13 teams and 152 runners finished.

St. Norbert was paced by Graceanne Tarsa, who placed third in 19:34. Sarah Parbs was fourth at 19:35.4, while Gretchen Price placed seventh at 19:48.7. Alyssa Wegner finished eight at 19:53, while Kelly Heniff was ninth at 19:55.4.

The Green Knights also had two other harriers finish in the top 20. Hailey Ruplinger was 14th in 20:27.5, while Elisabeth Klumpyan was 19th in 20:43.4.

The St. Norbert Alumnae placed sixth, with Haley Joosten turning in a 27th-place finish overall with a time of 21:00.4.
