Big Second Half Lifts St. Norbert

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College pumped in five goals in the second half to salt away a 6-0 win over Illinois College in the Midwest Conference opener for both teams at England Stadium.

The Green Knights (4-4, 1-0 MWC) held a 1-0 lead at halftime after Dana Schwab finished from point-blank range at 23:46 for her fourth goal of the season.

St. Norbert broke the match open early in the second half, with three goals in just over the first 10 minutes. Monica Stephans scored at 49:18 off a free kick. Madalyn Sanderfoot then extended her team-best goal total to seven with a penalty kick marker at 51:15 and a finish at 55:16 for a 4-0 edge.

Stephans then scored her fourth goal of the season at 60:37, while Morgan Kelly scored for the first time this season at 69:57.

Sanderfoot assisted on Schwab's goal to five her a five-point match.

St. Norbert outshot the Lady Blues 31-7 and held an 11-5 edge in corner kicks. Ally Magiera finished with three saves for the Green Knights.
