DE PERE - St. Norbert College turned in its first back-to-back shutouts in eight years with a 10-0 Midwest Conference North Division win over the University of Chicago at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (4-2, 2-0 MWC North), who blanked Ripon College 17-0 last Saturday, last pitched consecutive shutouts on Oct. 31-Nov. 7, 2009 with a 44-0 win over Beloit College and a 49-0 triumph over Illinois College. It also marked St. Norbert's 19th consecutive Homecoming win, and the Green Knights are now 31-3 in Homecoming games since 1984.

Chicago (3-3, 1-1) took the opening kickoff and ran five plays before the Maroons' Campbell Garrett was intercepted by Sam Koss, who returned it to the Chicago 43-yard line. St. Norbert hit a big play on its first snap from scrimmage, with Jack Becker connecting with Samuel Staehling on a 41-yard pass. Two runs and an incomplete pass later, the Green Knights settled for a 20-yard Spenser Thompson-Meyers field goal.

St. Norbert then went on a 14-play, 88-yard driving bridging the first and second quarters. Becker found Sean Ferraro on a 24-yard touchdown pass with 13:11 remaining in the second quarter for a 10-0 lead.

Both defenses took over in the second half, but St. Norbert didn't let Chicago generate much throughout the game. The Maroons' deepest penetration was the St. Norbert 32-yard line, marking the second consecutive week the Green Knights did not let their opponent take a snap inside their 30-yard line. Chicago did not penetrate the St. Norbert 42-yard line in the third quarter, and did not advance past midfield in the fourth quarter.

St. Norbert outgained Chicago 273-135 in total offense, including 107-47 in the second half. Becker completed 10 of 24 passes for 138 yards, while Staehling caught seven passes for 102 yards. Ferraro rushed 28 times for 86 yards.

The Green Knights registered a whopping 16 tackles-for-loss. Matt Gurgone had four tackles-for-loss, while Kordell Draves and Ben Kornowski had three apiece. Jerome Tillis and Will Utesch had two each. Matt Barrett finished with a team-high eight tackles overall, while Hunter Prokash added six stops.

Garrett completed 9 of 22 passes for 61 yards for Chicago and was intercepted twice. Chandler Carroll rushed 28 times for 63 yards and caught a team-high three passes for eight yards.
