St. Norbert Picks Up Key MWC Win Over Grinnell

DE PERE - St. Norbert College remained in first place in the Midwest Conference with an important 4-1 win over Grinnell College at De Pere High School's Nowak Family Field.
The Green Knights (10-4-1, 5-0-1 MWC) remained three points in front of Knox College, which is three points back with a game-in-hand on the Green Knights. The Prairie Fire battled to a scoreless draw with Lake Forest College today.
St. Norbert took command early, racing out to a 3-0 halftime lead. Madalyn Sanderfoot scored unassisted at 16:38, followed by Morgan Edge's goal at 22:56. Sanderfoot scored again, her 12th of the season, at 38:23.
Kitt Richards cut into Grinnell's deficit at 57:52, but Monica Stephans salted the win away with a marker at 64:11 - her seventh of the year.
Dana Schwab, Morgan Kelly and Aimee Conley all recorded assists for the Green Knights.
Grinnell outshot St. Norbert 15-13 and held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks, but Green Knight goalkeeper Ally Magiera made 10 saves to preserve the win.
