St. Norbert Rolls Past MSOE

DE PERE - St. Norbert College remained unblemished on the young season with a 4-1 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights (2-0, 2-0 NCHA), ranked No. 1 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, scored two goals in each of the first two periods to tip the 15th-ranked Raiders (3-1, 1-1).

St. Norbert scored just 2:51 into the game when Dominick Sacco scored off a cross-ice pass on a 3-on-2 breakaway for a power-play goal. The Green Knights added to their lead when Tanner Froese scored at 8:10 of the first period for a 2-0 edge.

The Green Knights pulled further ahead when Sean Campbell's blast from the blue line led to another power-play goal, this one at 3:13 of the second period. Brad Pung then scored a power-play goal at 18:12 for a 4-0 advantage.

MSOE got its only goal on a marker by Will Gauthier with 3:42 remaining in the game.

Froese added two assists for a three-point game, while Peter Bates assisted on three goals. Campbell also had a helper for a two-point game.

Shots were even at 26-26, with T.J. Black making 25 stops. Zach Woodman made 22 saves for the Raiders.

St. Norbert was a lusty 3-for-6 on the power play, while MSOE was 0-for-5.
