St. Norbert Blanks Lawrence

DE PERE - St. Norbert College remained unbeaten in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association with a convincing 6-0 win over Lawrence University at Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights (15-1-1, 10-0 NCHA), ranked No. 1 in the USCHO.com and D3hockey.com Division III polls, pumped in four goals in the first period to take the mystery in the outcome out of play early.

St. Norbert scored just 54 seconds in when Brad Pung scored off a rebound. The Green Knights doubled their lead at 4:42 of the period when Dominic Sacco scored from directly out front. Kurt Black pushed the lead to 3-0 with a goal at 13:41, while Nick LeSage added a 4-on-4 goal at 17:20 for a 4-0 edge.

LeSage scored another 4-on-4 marker, this one at 5:49 of the second period. Steven Mather closed out the scoring with a power-play goal at 9:55 of the second period.

Tanner Froese finished with three assists to join LeSage with a multi-point game.

St. Norbert outshot Lawrence 36-24. T.J. Black made 14 saves in two periods for the Green Knights, while Ryan Bontorin made 10 stops in the third period. Evan Cline made 13 saves and Greg Procopio 17 stops for the Vikings.

The Green Knights were 1-for-7 on the power play, while the Vikings were 0-for-7.
