Green Knights In First Place After Day 1

RIPON - St. Norbert College had a solid first day at the 2018 Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at Ripon College's Willmore Center.
The Green Knights rolled up 79 points to have a commanding lead over Monmouth College, which sits in second place with 41 points.
St. Norbert captured three conference championships out of seven events contested on Day 1.
The 1,600-meter sprint medley relay of Maddie LeBrun, Claire Van Beek, Morgan McClone and Megan Cibulka won the title with a time of 4:14.29, over five seconds faster than runner-up Cornell College.
Graceanne Tarsa won the pole vault with a height of 11 feet 3/4 inches, while Savanna Smith captured the shot put with a distance of 40-7 1/2.
Taylor Domro was second in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:15.80, while Kelley Gardipee was sixth in 5:25.26 and Tarsa was seventh at 5:26.17. Kirsten Carrigan was second in the pole vault with a clearance of 10-6 3/4.
Gretchen Price finished third in the 5,000-meter run 18:34.46 and Sarah Parbs was fourth in 18:46.28. Hannah Kruse was third in the shot put in 39-11 1/4 and Kristina Herman was fourth at 39-4.
LeBrun, Haidyn Mueller, McClone and Peyton McCauley were third in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:47.51.
