St. Norbert Qualifies Two Individuals, One Relay to NCAA Meet

DE PERE - St. Norbert College qualified two individuals and one relay to the NCAA Division III Women's Track and Field Indoor Championships to be held March 13-14 at Rose-Hulman Institute's Hulbert Arena in Terre Haute, Ind.

Ashley Graybill and Jenny Scherer qualified in individual events, while the St. Norbert 4x400-meter relay team also made the cut.

Graybill, a senior from Delafield, enters the 800-meter run seeded second. Her season-best time of 2:12.07 came Feb. 14 at a meet at Iowa State University. UW-Platteville's Jessica Scott has the best time among the 12 entrants at 2:10.12. The 800-meter preliminaries are at 4:45 p.m. CDT Friday with the final set for 2:35 p.m. CDT Saturday.

Scherer, a junior from Delavan, is in the 5,000-meter run and has the third-best time in the 15-entry field. Scherer's time of 17:11.12 came at the Iowa State meet on Feb. 14, and is almost five second behind the top time of Williams College's Lauren Philbrook. The 5K championship is set for 2:55 p.m. CDT Saturday.

The 4x400-meter relay team is seeded eight among 10 entries with a time of 3:56.94 at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational on Feb. 7. Graybill, Katie Meyer (so. - Sister Bay), Emily Schudrowitz (fr. - Wauwatosa) and Marisa Trakanovich (jr. - La Grange, Ill.) comprise the foursome.
