Green Knights Wrap Up Season With MWC Singles/Doubles Tournament

The Green Knights, who finished fourth at the MWC team championship, finished third in the tournament with 57 points. Conference champion Grinnell totaled 105 points, while runner-up Monmouth had 60 points.
St. Norbert did not have any conference champions but did have a pair of singles players reach their flight finals. Derek Harrington was the runner-up to Grinnell's Dan LaFountaine at No. 2 singles, dropping the title match by a 6-0, 6-2 score. Harrington easily won his first two matches, beating Lake Forest's Tommy White 6-0, 6-2 in the quarterfinals and Monmouth's Sam Graf 6-2, 6-1 in a semifinal match.
Ethan Kadow reached the finals at No. 5 singles, dropping the title match to Grinnell's Eric Ritter 6-0, 6-3. Kadow topped Carroll's Adam Knoelke 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinals and Monmouth's Tyler Lampe 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 in the semifinals.
The other four singles players all reached the semifinals before being eliminated. Nate Tackaberry, playing at No. 4 singles, was the only one to go to three sets before succumbing to Grinnell's Sam Raife 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
In doubles action, two of the three flights reached the semifinals. Jordan Bauer and Mike Hyrczyk lost to Lawrence's Ryan Dunn and Dan Hertel 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1. Eric Koppmann and Matt Schmitz lost to Lake Forest's Joe Campagna and Chris Paterakos 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3.
Harrington and Tackaberry won the consolation championship at No. 2 doubles, beating Ripon's Jake Knappen and Alex Tande by a 10-2 score.
