Graybill, Scherer Lead St. Norbert to Third Place at MWC Meet

WAUKESHA - Ashley Graybill and Jenny Scherer were named Most Outstanding Performers and helped lead St. Norbert College to a third-place finish at the Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Carroll University.

The Green Knights totaled 106 points for their third-place showing. Monmouth College won the championship with 254 points, while Carroll was second with 172 points.

Graybill won three events - the 200- and 400-meter dashes and the 1,500-meter run. Graybill won the 200 with a time of 26.31 seconds, but set a school record in the event with a 25.54 time in the preliminaries. Graybill blew away the field in the 400, winning by almost two full seconds with a time of 57.28 seconds. Graybill's time of 4:37.20 in the 1,500 was the winning time by over three seconds.

Scherer won the 10,000-meter run by over three minutes, posting a time of 37 minutes 31.60 seconds. She also placed second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:36.66.

Emily Schudrowitz also claimed an event championship with a time of 2:20.24 in the 800-meter run. The 4x400-meter relay team won the event with a time of 4:01.41. The 4x100-meter relay was third with a time of 50.29 seconds.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Anne Mueller was third with a time of 16.21 seconds. Danielle Krause was fourth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 2.76 meters. Megan Domnick was fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.22, while Nikki Swanson was fifth with a time of 1:02.39.
