Graybill, Scherer Qualify for NCAA Division III Outdoor Meet

DE PERE - St. Norbert College's Ashley Graybill and Jenny Scherer have qualified in a total of three events for the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held May 21-23 at Marietta College's Don Drumm Stadium in Marietta, Ohio.

Graybill, a senior from Delafield, enters the 800-meter run with the seventh-best time among 19 entrants. Graybill, who won the NCAA indoor 800 championship earlier this spring, ran her outdoor-best time of 2:11.33 on April 25 at the Gina Relays. Trials for the 800 are Friday at 4:55 p.m. EDT while the finals are Saturday at 3 p.m. EDT.

Scherer, a junior from Delavan, qualified in the 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs. Scherer's time of 17:12.28 is the 11th best time out of 18 entrants in the 5k, while her time of 36:11.51 in the 10k is 12th out of 18 competitors. Scherer's 5k time came May 14 at the North Central Last Chance Meet while her 10k time came April 25 at the Gina Relays. The 5k will be run Saturday at 4:20 p.m EDT and the 10k will begin at 7:40 p.m. EDT Thursday.
