Scherer Places Fourth in NCAA Outdoor 10-Kilometer Championship

MARIETTA, Ohio - St. Norbert College junior Jenny Scherer placed fourth in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Marietta College's Don Drumm Stadium.

Scherer ran a school-record time of 35 minutes 48.84 seconds, and was just over two seconds out of second place. Williams College's Lauren Philbrook won the national championship with a time of 35:24.78. Tufts University's Stephanie McNamara was second with a time of 35:46.62, while Washington (Mo.) University's Taryn Surtees was third at 35:46.94.

Scherer will compete in the 5,000-meter run on Saturday. The Green Knights' Ashley Graybill will run in the 800-meter trials Friday.
