Heil, Klepfer Pace Swimmers at LU Invite

APPLETON - Bre Heil and Stef Klepfer both enjoyed strong days to lead the St. Norbert College women's swimming team to a fourth-place finish at the Lawrence University Invitational.

The Green Knights placed fourth among five teams, totaling 197 points. Lawrence won the meet with 523.5 points, followed by Ripon with 257.5 points and Lake Forest with 213 points. Carroll placed fifth with 173 points.

Heil had three top-four finishes at the meet, while Klepfer had two top-four placings.

Heil had a pair of second-place finishes. She had a runner-up time of 26.95 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, and then had a time of 1:07.56 in the 100 backstroke. Heil finished fourth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.66.

Klepfer was third in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:07.88 and placed fourth with a time of 1:10.41 in the 100 butterfly.

The St. Norbert 200 freestyle relay team finished third with a time of 1:53.75. Stacy Hlavach, Meghan Wood, Jessica Powell and Megan Rice swam on the relay.

The 200 medley relay group placed fourth with a time of 2:08.36. Klepfer, Natalie Weis, Wood and Heil were the foursome.
