Offense Continues Piling Up Goals as Green Knights Top Clarke

KENOSHA - St. Norbert College scored six goals for the second time in as many games in 2009 as the Green Knights rolled to a 6-1 win over Clarke College at the Carthage College Battle on the Border at Art Keller Field.

St. Norbert led 2-0 at halftime before putting the match away with four second-half goals. The Green Knights held an 18-8 shots advantage.

Ben Vanden Avond scored the match's first goal for the second-straight game with a marker in the sixth minute, with Donny Baloun adding an assist. Adam Sanchez scored in the 22nd minute getting a feed from Vanden Avond.

Sanchez scored in the 53rd minute for a 3-0 lead, again getting set up by Vanden Avond. Kevin Jones buried a goal at the 60-minute mark off an assist from Nick Hren. Louis Ayensu-Mensah and Nate Watermolen rounded out the scoring in the game's final 10 minutes for the Green Knights.

Joe Schwartz worked the first 64 minutes in goal for St. Norbert, netting three saves. Nolan Pichhietti and Brad Hammer both worked in relief and each tallied one save.
