Green Knights Move to 2-0 in MWC North

WAUKESHA - St. Norbert College remained unbeaten in the Midwest Conference North Division with an 8-1 triumph over Carroll University in a conference dual meet at Van Male Courts.

The Green Knights improved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the MWC North, while Carroll dropped to 2-2, 1-1.

St. Norbert again swept all three doubles matches to get the jump on the Pioneers. Lauren Post and Kelly Van Handel claimed an 8-4 win over Samantha Bachmann and Elissa McKinley at No. 1 doubles. Allyson Yankle and Erin Riutta topped Kate Rasmussen and Alyssa Larson 8-4 at No. 2, while Maria Slusarek and Kristyn Klind beat Cheyanne Urso and Katie Wittnebel 9-8 (8-6) at No. 3.

Post beat Larson 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Van Handel outlasted Bachmann 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 at No. 2. Yankle topped Rasmussen 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3, and Slusarek beat Tricia Goska 6-4, 6-0 at No. 5. Callie Schroeder rounded out St. Norbert's wins with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 win over Erin Mohrbacker at No. 6.
