DE PERE - The St. Norbert College women's basketball team survived yet another close game at home to pull out a 48-45 Midwest Conference win over Lawrence University at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights claimed their third home win by one possession or less in January by holding on to the victory. St. Norbert is now 13-4 overall and 9-1 in the MWC, while Lawrence fell to 4-12 and 1-8.

St. Norbert led 25-16 at halftime by holding Lawrence to just 5 of 24 shooting from the floor in the first half. Lawrence started the second half on an 18-3 run to take a 34-28 lead with 10:05 left on a 3-pointer by Annie Kaiser.

The Green Knights answered to take a 44-39 lead with 4:00 left, capped off by a Victoria Le Fevre basket. The Vikings would answer again on a pair of layups by Caresse Reiland and a hoop by Laura Aerts for a 45-44 lead with 2:06 left.

Neither team scored again until Denise Heuser scored on a backdoor layup with 42 seconds left. The Vikings had the shot clock worked down to 6 seconds before a kicking violation boosted the shot clock back to 15 seconds. With 4 seconds left and the shot clock at 3, Erin Henzi's wild, off-balance 3-pointer missed iron, and Heuser secured the rebound and hit two free throws to seal the win.

St. Norbert shot just 30 percent for the game, making 18 of 60 shots. Morgan Strasser had 12 points, while Linsey Propson added 11 points and Heuser 10.

Reiland led Lawrence with 15 points and a whopping 17 rebounds. Aerts added eight points for Lawrence, which outrebounded St. Norbert 41-37.
