St. Norbert Places Fourth at Midwest Conference Championship

ROCKFORD, Ill. - St. Norbert College finished fourth, and improvement in three places in the standings, at the 2009 Midwest Conference Championship held at Aldeen Golf Club.

The Green Knights shot a 1,204 over the 54-hole event to clip defending champion Illinois College by two strokes for fourth place. Carroll University won the championship with an 1,105. Grinnell College was second with 1,131 and Ripon College was third with 1,169. Carroll's Angelina Parrinello was the medalist with a 260.

Andrea Liebelt led St. Norbert with a fourth-place finish. Liebelt shot an opening-round score of 93 before carding an 89 in each of her last two rounds to finish with a 271.

Traci Wasmuth was second among Green Knights with a 307, shooting a 103-102-102. Lexi Klinger followed with a 310 (100-104-106), and Jennifer Ackman had a 328 (101-121-106).

Jessica Rodgers shot a 346 (116-109-121) and Ali Mendez had a 347 (120-115-112) to round out St. Norbert's six competing golfers.
