Green Knights Remain Unbeaten in MWC Play

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College stayed unbeaten in Midwest Conference action with a four-set win over Illinois College at Sherman Gym. The Green Knights topped the Lady Blues 25-18, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23.

St. Norbert improved to 15-7 overall and 4-0 in the MWC, while Illinois College fell to 4-12, 1-5.

St. Norbert was in command of the first two sets before the Lady Blues outlasted the visitors in a tight third set. The Green Knights trailed in the fourth set 11-9 before going on a 7-0 run, including two service aces from Mary Kate Manion, to pull ahead 17-11. The Lady Blues cut it to 18-16 and 24-23 before St. Norbert hung on to seal the win.

The Green Knights hit .155 for the match, getting 10 kills from Danielle Remy and nine apiece from Lauren Meehan and Sam Jungbluth. Laura Ayello had 36 assists and a team-high 24 digs. Catherine Guido added 17 digs.

Illinois College hit .072 for the match and was led by 11 kills from Courtney Sweatman and 10 kills by Melissa Norville.
