Men's Track and Field Places Third at Strong Carthage Invitational

KENOSHA - The St. Norbert College men's track and field team fared well against stiff competition, placing third at the Tadd Metzger Invitational at Carthage College.
The Green Knights scored 79 points for their third-place finish. UW-Stevens Point won the event with 187.5 points, followed by Aquinas College's 87.5 points. The Green Knights finished well ahead of fourth-place Carthage (51 points) and fifth-place Hope (50 points).
St. Norbert finished 1-2 in the 5,000-meter run. Aaron Roden won the event with a time of 16:18.04, followed by Alex DeVillers placing second at 16:21.20.
Paul Leeman also did well in the jumps. Leeman placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 44-11.5, and went on to finish fourth in the high jump with height of 6-3.5.
Alex Albers had a pair of top-six finishes. Albers placed fifth in the pole vault, clearing 13-11.75. He also finished sixth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.36 seconds.
St. Norbert's distance medley placed second with a time of 11:04.59 and the 4x200 relay finished third with a time of 1:37.31.
Also placing for the Green Knights were Ernest James finishing fourth in the 55 dash, Dann Schneider fifth in the 200 dash, Mackenzie Laska fifth in the 1,000 run, John Barrett sixth in the 1,000 run, Dustin Dessell eighth in the long jump and Tony Dionne fifth in the shot put.
