ELMHURST, Ill. - St. Norbert College gave College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin champion Elmhurst College all it could handle but fell 4-2 to the host Bluejays in an non-conference match at Berens Park.

The Green Knights (11-5) were tied with Elmhurst (12-3-3) at 2-2 with just over 4 minutes left in the first half. But a pair of Elmhurst goals late in the first half proved to be the difference, as neither team scored in the second half.

Elmhurst's Keith Thurman opened the scoring at 11 minutes 27 seconds, but St. Norbert's Ben Vanden Avond would tie the game, scoring his 10th goal of the season on a penalty kick at 23:25. The Bluejays grabbed a 2-1 lead o Jon Brehm's unassisted goal at 36:05. St. Norbert's Donny Baloun would score for the fifth time this season, tallying an unassisted marker at 40:37.

The Bluejays would score the decisive goals when David Griggs scored at 41:37 and Brehm would score again just 13 seconds before halftime.

St. Norbert outshot Elmhurst 20-14 and also held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. Sebastian Domczewski made six saves for the Bluejays, while Joe Schwartz made two stops for St. Norbert.
