St. Norbert Places Fourth at MWC Meet

ROCKFORD, Ill. - St. Norbert College finished in fourth place at the 2009 Midwest Conference Women's Cross Country Championship held at Rock Cut State Park.

The Green Knights finished in fourth by a razor-thin margin. Grinnell College won the championship with 62 points. Carroll University was second with 71 points, while Monmouth College was third with 73 points. St. Norbert's 74 points were good for fourth.

Defending conference champion Jenny Scherer was not able to repeat, finishing second to Carroll's Megan O'Grady. O'Grady covered the 6,000-meter course in a time of 22:26, while Scherer's time of 23:22 was good for second.

Amanda Whipple placed fifth for St. Norbert, and was the top freshman finisher in the conference. Whipple's time was 24:41. Brianna Skrzypcak was 17th with a time of 25:40.

Kelsey Timm placed 23rd with a time of 26:08, while Kim Keil was 27th with a run of 26:30. Kali Reierson was 30th overall with a time of 26:37, and Erika Quinn was 33rd with a time of 26:52.
