St. Norbert's Season Ends In Shootout With Grinnell

WAUKESHA - Following a scoreless tie, St. Norbert College fell to Grinnell College in a wild 7-6 shootout in the semifinals of the Midwest Conference Tournament at Carroll University's Schneider Stadium..

The Green Knights' season ends 11-5-2, while Grinnell (9-7-3) advances to face Beloit College for the tournament championship on Saturday.

St. Norbert outshot Grinnell 14-7 in the match and held an 8-2 corner kick advantage, but couldn't find the back of the net. Grinnell's Ben Schemper made five saves, while St. Norbert's Joe Schwartz made three stops.

In the shootout, the first six rounds ended in a 6-6 draw. With St. Norbert shooting first, Greg Schmidt's shot was no good. Grinnell's Alex Kohut then scored for the decisive shootout score.
