Three School Records Fall for St. Norbert Women's Track Squad

WHITEWATER - The St. Norbert College women's track and field team set three new school records in a third-place finish at the UW-Whitewater Hawk Invitational.

The Green Knights placed third among eight teams with 107 points. North Central won the meet with 169 points, followed by UW-Whitewater's 143 points.

Ashley Graybill won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.10 to set a new school mark, but the time was second to UW-Whitewater's Brooke Bell, who ran 25.97.

The 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams also set new school records. The 4x200 team of Marisa Trakanovich, Melissa Fabry, Graybill and Katie Meyer won their event with a time of 1:48.78.

Emily Sommers replaced Fabry on the 4x400 relay, and with the other three holdovers ran a second-place time of 4:05.37.

In the 55-meter dash, Fabry, Anne Mueller and Graybill finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively. Graybill won the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.23 seconds, over 1.5 seconds faster than the runner-up.

Jenny Scherer claimed a first-place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:08.31. Fabry added a fourth-place finish in the long jump at 5.06 meters.
