St. Norbert Takes Third at MWC Women's Indoor Meet

GALESBURG, Ill. - St. Norbert College's women's track and field team finished in third place at the Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Knox College's T. Fleming Fieldhouse.

The Green Knights totaled 150 points to finish two points out of second place. Monmouth College won the championship with 217.5 points, while Carroll was second with 152 points.

Emily Schudrowitz won the 800-meter run with a NCAA provisional-qualifying time of 2:16.13. Lindsay Wiebe won the high jump with a provisional-qualifying height of 1.66 meters. The Green Knights also claimed a title in the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay, with the quartet of Marisa Trakanovich, Danielle Krause, Megan Domnick and Schudrowitz finishing with a time of 4:11.32.

Jenny Scherer had three second-place finishes. Scherer ran a time of 5:14.68 in the 1-mile run, a time of 10:22.01 in the 3,000-meter run and a provisional-qualifying time of 17:33.90 in the 5,000-meter run. Carroll's Megan O'Grady won all three of those events.

Trakanovich was second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.70, while Danielle Allen was second in the 55-meter hurdles at 8.90 seconds. The distance medley relay finished second with Kelsey Timm, Katherine Larson, Melissa Menne and Scherer posting a time of 13:02.02.

Schudrowitz picked up a pair of third-place finishes in the 200-meter dash (26.89 seconds) and the 1-mile run (5:16.57). Domnick was third in the 800 meters with a run of 2:23.60, while Trakanovich was third in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.93 seconds.

Danielle Krause set a school record in the pole vault with a cleared height of 3.05 meters, and Allen was third in the triple jump with a leap of 10.60 meters.
