DE PERE - St. Norbert College swept UW-Oshkosh on the softball diamond for the first time since the 2000 season with wins of 1-0 and 3-1 in a non-conference twinbill at Mel Nicks Field.
The Green Knights, who won a pair of 4-3 games over the Titans on April 26, 2000, held the visitors to just four hits in the doubleheader. St. Norbert improved to 9-5, while Oshkosh fell to 5-7.
Kayla Krueger twirled a one-hit shutout in the opener, yielding a single to Lindsey Mikulecky in the third inning. Krueger, who walked one and struck out three, retired the next 13 hitters she faced before a two-out error in the seventh inning.
St. Norbert got the only run it would need on a booming home run to left by Brittany Narges in the second inning. The Green Knights were held to three hits by tough-luck losing pitcher Ashley Kowalewski.
In the nightcap, St. Norbert scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to snap a 1-1 tie. Tracy Palmer's double to left drove in Alyssa McGray, and a two-out infield error plated Palmer.
Krueger stroked a home run off the flagpole in center field in the bottom of the first, while Oshkosh's Amie Heinzelman hit an opposite-field roundtripper to left in the third to tie the game.
Kari Corbeille spun a three-hitter, walking one with two strikeouts. Two of Oshkosh's three hits came in a last-ditch rally in the seventh, but the Titans couldn't get the potential tying run into scoring position.
Palmer and Kristin Zimmerman were both 2-for-3 for St. Norbert, which had seven hits in the nightcap.
