St. Norbert Finishes MWC Slate Unbeaten With Win at Ripon

RIPON - St. Norbert College finished Midwest Conference play unbeaten with a 6-2 win over Ripon College in a make-up game at Tracy Field.

The Green Knights, who finished the MWC with a perfect 13-0 mark, improved to 27-6 overall and have won 22 of their last 23 games. Ripon is 14-16, 8-5.

St. Norbert and Ripon were locked in a 2-2 stalemate going into the fifth inning when the Green Knights pushed across a run to take a 3-2 lead. Kayla Krueger reached on an error with two outs, and then came around to score on Brieanne Oehlke's RBI double.

The Green Knights scored three times in the seventh to ice the game. Krueger's RBI single scored Alyssa McGray. Oehlke then had an RBI fielder's choice for a 5-2 advantage when Brittany Narges scored. Oehlke then stole second and Stephanie Ortiz stole home on the back end of a double steal for the game's final run.

St. Norbert had seven hits, with Krueger going 2-for-4. Oehlke finished with three RBIs to extend her school record this season to 33.

Kari Corbeille improved to 8-3 with a complete-game win. Corbeille allowed five hits with one walk and struck out eight.
